Radiologic Technologist/Mammography – Watertown
Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality images in the modality of mammography as outlined by The American College of Radiology and Elizabeth Wende Breast Care protocol. The candidate will work independently, yet be part of a team that will focus on the entire needs of the patient. This includes serving as a point of contact for the patient as it relates to her healthcare, performing routine and additional views, review of images prior to interpretation, prepare any documentation in patient electronic medical record, and act as a liaison between the patient and physician.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to quality patient care while delivering mammography procedures
- Operates radiologic equipment and performs procedures to assist physicians in diagnosis of disease
- Review images for quality control
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Two-year program with ARRT registration and New York State licensed
- Must obtain mammography certification in two years from date of hire
- Basic computer knowledge necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial
- Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility
Performance Standards
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as adopt a teamwork mindset within the Technologist department. Technologists reports directly to Technologist/ Mammography Department Manager.
Hourly-up to $40.00

Patient Billing/Collections Specialist
The Position
Breast Imaging facility seeking a full time Medical Billing Collections and Check Out Desk to add to our experienced Billing Department. This position is patient facing. Primary duties are overseeing time of service collection of patient responsibility and reviewing account/insurance questions with patients. The position reports directly to the Billing Manager. Communication skills with coworkers and patients are vital to improve processes and maintain quality customer relations. Requires strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to produce, interpret and present detailed billing answers.
General Responsibilities and Duties
Check Out Desk
- Accurately post patient payments daily
- Responds to patients’ billing questions by telephone and/or in person
- Provides assistance to patients in creating payment plans and determining financial responsibilities
- Research best options to communicate with patient balances and offers creative/personalized solutions to collect patient payment
- Understands in detail insurance and billing procedure guidelines when communicating with patients
Eligibility
- When not working on the desk, candidate will be supporting eligibility team by looking up patient insurance via website and entering in patient responsibility to account
- Contacts patients via phone or email to correct insurance information as needed
- Ability to keep on top of evolving insurance guidelines and communicate trends with the rest of the billing team
Qualifications
- CMC or CPC with experience in radiology billing preferred
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task, use critical thinking, familiar with Excel
- Flexibility to work independently with little supervision and in a team office environment
Hourly rate: $20.00 - $23.00

Community Liaison
The Position
The Community Liaison is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining new and existing referring relationships with physician groups and community-based organizations for Elizabeth Wende Breast Care, including satellite locations. This role is responsible for providing a high level of customer service by presenting information on our services and facilities, while identifying obstacles to business growth. The overall goal of the position is to increase the visibility of Elizabeth Wende Breast Care, increase referrals and new patient acquisitions.
General Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as a liaison for referral sources; develop relationships through face-to-face visits with physicians and staff from referring physician offices
- Liaison will host presentations to educate referring providers and practice staff on our services
- Maintain existing and cultivate new relationships with community organizations and support groups and manage community presentations
- Support events as needed, specifically intended to nurture referral relationships, and enhance EWBC’s reputation
- Interpret current physician referral patterns utilizing existing reporting tools to assess opportunities for growth and maintain detailed monthly reports. Coordinate regular meetings with practice administrator and doctors to review data and discuss current and future growth strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing administrator to help identify materials needed for outreach
- Communicate in a manner that supports the organization’s vision, mission, and values
- Knowledge of social media design, marketing and content creation.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum two years of experience in health care, physician services or community outreach
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and organizational skills with minimal direction
- Experienced in public speaking and creating presentations for various health literacy levels
- Experience creating social media content
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to conceptualize ideas and develop a plan of execution
- Valid driver’s license required to travel to off-site locations
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Medical Assistant
Job Summary
Provides and assists with health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a physician. Supports doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. Collects test samples, maintains patient records, explains common medical procedures to patients and assists in basic examinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare exams in EHR/PACS systems
- Prepare exam rooms and medical instruments
- Assist physicians with workflow and procedures such as ultrasound, core biopsies, fine needle aspirations & cyst aspirations. Must be comfortable with blood and needles.
- Prepares specimens and paperwork for laboratory analysis
- Schedule appointments and handle calls to patients, physician offices and labs
- Maintain safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Responsible for managing diagnostic calls and serving as a patient advocate to ensure seamless communication, personalized support, and advocacy for patients throughout their care with EWBC
Skills and Qualifications

Performance Standards

Patient Service Representative
Job Summary
Responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, greeting and checking in patients, verifying and updating patient information with accuracy, handling insurance, deductibles and co-pays, while ensuring a friendly and professional demeanor.

MRI Administrative Assistant – evenings/weekends
Job Summary
The MRI administrative assistant will perform the daily administrative duties that serve our MRI patients. This individual is responsible for checking in MRI patients as they arrive for their appointment. They will also aid patients throughout their visit ensuring comfort and care throughout their time within the building. They will assist the High-Risk Department by obtaining prior authorizations, reviewing and organizing medical records and preparing specimen kits for send-out. This position is 26 to 36 hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Retrieve and triage voicemails from patients and referring doctors’ offices
- Check in MRI patients (~18-20 per day) and Blood draw patients (up to 4 per day)
- Submit insurance prior-authorization paperwork
- Monitor daily dashboards
- Day ahead patient chart prep
- Electronic billing of services
- Maintain cancellation list and contact patients as last-minute appointments become available
- Prepare blood and buccal specimen kits
- Oversee consent paperwork for genetic testing
- Prepare patient educational materials for newly diagnosed patients
- Ensure cleanliness of waiting room
- Support an efficient, on-time daily schedule
- Stock gowns, juice and snacks
- Scanning and faxing
Skills and Qualifications
- Associates degree
- 2+ years’ experience working in healthcare practice or hospital
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality
- Attention to detail
- Superior customer service skills
- Basic understanding of computer technology

High-Risk Administrative Assistants are expected to perform well in a team environment, also possessing the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
